When it comes to life, the only constant is change. In the world of technology, that truism moves even faster.
That’s definitely the case with Ford’s successful first foray into electric vehicles — the Mustang Mach-E. For the 2022 model year, it is not only gaining new options and a slightly higher price tag, but it also carries a bit more range than its predecessors.
If you order the 2022 Mach-E California Route 1 edition that is configured with the extended range battery and rear-wheel drive, it will travel 9 miles farther than the 2021 version, which is attributed to expanded battery capacity. Both battery setups are enhanced, as the standard range version now has 70 kilowatt-hours of usable energy and the available extended range now delivers 91 kWh of usable energy.
Besides the extra juice, the latest Mach-Es are available with several new styling options as well. While we already learned about the 2022 Ice White Edition back in August, there is a new paint option in Iced Blue Silver Metallic. Moreover, the popular Grabber Blue Metallic and Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat are now available on all models.
“We are proud to continue a longstanding Mustang tradition of continuously offering fresh, new styling options for customers to empower them to make their Mustang an extension of who they are,” said Jim Owens, Mustang brand marketing manager when the Ice White Edition was revealed.
