If you are a fan of Mustangs, there is a good chance you have heard of Kevin Marti. His company Marti Auto Works offers a number of services geared toward documenting and preserving Mustangs. Most prominent of those offerings is the noted Marti Report which deciphers the full production details of a particular Mustang.
Obviously he has a lot of expertise in identifying Mustangs, and that knowledge proved key in verifying the legitimacy of the original Bullitt movie Mustang that Sean Kiernan famously sold for a record-setting $3.74 million at the Mecum Kissimmee auction earlier this year.
On a recent episode of Mecum’s On the Move podcast, he looked back on verifying the Bullitt. “He explains the smoking gun, which, as it turns out, was the galvanic reaction of the vehicle’s aluminum VIN tag,” says the episode description. “Kevin also gives his thoughts on the car’s momentous presentation and record-breaking sale at the 2020 Kissimmee Mecum Auction.”
