CHARGE ON!

The Mustang Mach-E charges even faster than Ford thought it would.

New Ford testing reveals that the 2021 Mustang Mach-E charges 30-percent faster than the company first projected, meaning it can add significant range in just 10 minutes.

‍One of the big concerns with battery-electric vehicles is how long you will have to wait on a recharge for enough juice to continue your trip. When it comes to the forthcoming 2021 Mustang Mach-E, you can stop for a snack or a cup of coffee and get enough charge to go another 61 miles.

Ford’s testing, based on using Electrify America’s DC fast charging station with extended-range battery and rear-wheel drive, revealed that the Mach-E charges 30-percent quicker than earlier estimates. Likewise, its all-wheel-drive, extended-range battery combo can add 52 miles of range in 10 minutes, while the two-wheel-drive, standard-range-battery arrangement can add 46 miles of range in 10 minutes. If you have more time on your hands, the AWD, extended-battery Mach-E can go from a 10- to 80-percent charge in just 45 minutes, while the 2WD, standard-battery version can go from a 10- to 80-percent charge in just 38 minutes.
