Since the Fox era, Steeda embraced every platform by developing performance upgrades as a result of testing. That hasn’t changed.
In fact, the company recently borrowed a Mustang Mach-E and Mustang Mach-E GT from YouTuber Sergio Rodriguez so it could learn more about the electric Mustangs and begin its parts development for these cars.
To learn more about the Mach-E, the Steeda team spent several days driving the cars, but the highlights of the research included taking the Mach-E GT to both a slalom course and a drag strip. In those environments, the Mach-E went up against a Mustang GT with the Performance Pack option and a Shelby GT350, respectively.
On the slalom, the gas-powered pony came out on top, besting the electric stallion by 9 miles per hour, with the Mach-E topping out at 71 mph and the Mustang GT PP1 racing up to 80 mph.
“Two totally different ways to get through the slalom when it comes to extra weight but immediate torque, but the Mustang GT’s lighter and more nimble and able to get through those cones a lot better simply because it’s over a thousand pounds less in comparison,” Chris Cervenka, Director of Marketing at Steeda, explained.
