Just as Carroll Shelby worked his magic on vehicles from several brands, his namesake company is partnering with noted custom vehicle builder Classic Recreations to modify American muscle machines of every feather.
The new venture is called Shelby Garage, and it will focus on high-performance upgrades rather than official Shelby conversions.
“Carroll Shelby was the father of American muscle, so it only makes sense for the Shelby brand to evolve into providing service, performance, and aesthetic upgrades for all American muscle vehicles,” said Jason Engel, Founder and VP of Design and Engineering at Classic Recreations. “When asked to develop this brand, the focus was filling a need for people who've had a hard time finding a shop that understands the unique needs of a high-performance vehicle in contrast to the average driver. Just like Carroll did with the early Ford Mustangs, our goal is to help enthusiasts make their vehicles truly one of a kind.”
Based in Dallas, Texas, where the legendary Shelby attended high school, the 95,000-square-foot facility is slated to be the first in a series of Shelby Garage locations. It is said to employ technicians with experience working on licensed Shelby vehicles and other high-performance machines.
Customers can order Shelby, Ford Performance, and other aftermarket upgrades and schedule installation at the physical location. In addition to the onsite upgrades, Shelby Garage supports an online retail store offering parts, apparel and accessories.
