Revology Cars unleashes a modernized version of the classic Shelby GT500 Super Snake

The original 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake sought to elevate Mustang performance to a whole new level by pushing the pony car platform with the 600-horsepower lightweight racing 427 that saw success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In later years, Shelby American brought the Super Snake to life on modern Mustangs, but Revology cars recently debuted a version that both classic style and modern muscle.

If you aren’t familiar with Revology Cars, the company focuses on creating replicas of classic Mustangs with refined build quality and modern powertrains.By using the same assembly line techniques he learned working at Ford and other automakers, CEO and founder Tom Scarpello has steadily grown the company’s offerings, including the Super Snake that debuted during the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance back in May.

“Our client was enthralled with the history of the original Super Snake, and asked if we could build one for him,” says Scarpello. “We love a good story, so we went for it.”

This modern interpretation of the storied Super Snake is available with a six-speedmanual or 10-speed automatic transmission behind its Ford Performance TVS-supercharged Coyote engine that delivers 710 horsepower.

“Our cars are designed to be very fast, but also very driveable and useable in dailylife,” Scarpello said. “The state-of-the-art Ford 10R80 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission provides quick shifts for performance driving but also is very smooth in normal driving, which is exactly what our clients want.”

Revology Cars added a 710-horsepower Super Snake to its repertoire of officially licensed reproduction Mustangs. The Revology Super Snake package includes a unique front grille with outboard driving lights, a louvered fiberglass hood, Super Snake badging, a special shift knob, and a triple stripe.

If a Revology Super Snake sounds like your kind of dream machine, the package adds $10,950 to the $272,875 base price of Revology’s standard Shelby GT500.
