The Fox Gathering, a cruise-in style event started by Brent Hicks of Hick House Videos, has become a must-attend occasion for Foxbody Mustang enthusiasts.
Held in Taylorsville, NC, this event is dedicated to showcasing 1979-2004 vehicles in the main display area, with a smaller lot reserved for other cars and trucks.
Now in its fifth year, the turnout for this gathering was unfortunately lower than usual due to Hurricane Helene. However, in a typical year, it draws over 100 cars, making it one of the standout events for Foxbody fans. Though I currently find myself without a Foxbody, I had the pleasure of riding along with Stuart Earp in his stunning 1988 GT.
One of the first things that struck me upon arrival was the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, with younger children enthusiastically helping out. It was a refreshing sight, knowing that these kids represent the future of the hot-rodding community.
Unlike many car events, The Fox Gathering doesn’t feature traditional awards, but Brent more than makes up for it with a fantastic selection of raffle prizes. Rob Miller also contributes by organizing a cruise and helping with event promotion, while Brent has taken to the 5.0 Asylum podcast to further discuss and promote the show.
This year’s event was supported by major sponsors, with National Parts Depot as the title sponsor and Window Gang’s corporate office acting as the host sponsor. Additional help came from Travis Blanchard of Classic LEDs, along with Harris and Emily from Lue Creative, all of whom contributed to the door prizes.
The venue for The Fox Gathering is perfect, and despite the weather’s impact on this year’s turnout, it’s clear that big things are on the horizon for this event. Make sure to follow Hick House Videos on social media to stay in the loop and don’t miss out on catching Brent at Foxtoberfest in Concord, NC, from October 22-26, 2024!
