There is no doubt that the 2020 Shelby GT500 is a sexy beast. Likewise, it is one of the most capable performance Mustangs built to date. It’s safe to say this car is fast, and it looks fast sitting still.
That’s why it makes such a great focal point for a demonstration video created by Theodon Technologies. The company specializes in creating interactive, virtual simulations using 3D, VR, and XR technologies. “In every field, from photo-realism in architecture, in engineering simulations and schematics, to building sandboxes for science, finance and education, Theodon uses the application of real-time 3D to breathe life into experiences otherwise difficult to obtain via traditional mediums,” says the company.
In this case, the company utilized the form of the Predator-powered Shelby as the centerpiece for a video flexing its muscle with the real-time 3D software, Unreal Engine.
“We avoided environment design for this reveal trailer, as this serves as a teaser for the Digital Showroom experience of the same car – the 2020 Shelby GT500 – wherein plenty of environments play a better role than it could over here,” says the company. “The project was started in early 2020 as a configurator, but slowly evolved to be much more than that.”
The resulting video seen here shows Ford Performance’s halo stallion appearing from underneath a virtual cover. It looks so real it definitely makes you wish the car was in your garage.
