Watch An Aussie Supercars Champ Run Flat Out In A 2021 Mach 1

While the 2021 Mustang Mach 1 is arriving at dealers in North America, it is also slated to break the sound barrier in other parts of the world. Case in point is Australia, where it is offered as a right-hand drive model.

To get the word out to its customers down under, Ford hosted a Facebook live with one of its product specialists, Mike Element, taking a tour of the car with a noted Supercars racer.

If you haven’t heard of the Supercars Championship, it is a touring-car road racing series run in Australia. It features road-racing machines based on production cars, and one of its champions, Rick Kelly, is a spokesperson for the Mach 1. He hosted the walk around highlighting the car’s features from his garage.

Available in Australia and New Zealand this year, the 2021 Mustang Mach 1 is the first factory right-hand drive model built at the Flat Rock, Michigan, plant.

“It’s a stunning looking vehicle, but above all it really is a Mustang made for enthusiasts — it is all about how it drives around a track, which is why I’m so pleased to be working on this project with Ford,” the Kelly Racing Ford Mustang Supercars driver and Mustang Mach 1 ambassador said. “Racing a Mustang Supercar around tracks like Mount Panorama, where we’ll be this weekend, has been a highlight for me, but Mach 1 is such a unique opportunity for fans and customers, so I am pumped for its arrival here...”

No matter what country it hails from, the 2021 Mustang Mach 1 looks sharp in Twister Orange. Down under it is also available in Oxford White, Fighter Jet Gray, Shadow Black, and Velocity Blue.

Of course, most exciting about this live stream was a pre-produced segment that showed Kelly giving Element a foot-to-the-floor ride around the road course in the Mach 1.

The two attempted to discuss the car’s features while it blasted around the track, but it is simply great to see the Mach 1 in its corner-carving element.
