Drop Your ROUSHcharged Coyote’s Temp In 3 Minutes

Superchargers and Coyote 5.0-liter engines are fast friends. Boost, plus a high-revving, free-breathing V8 creates big power. Creating that power also adds in some heat. In street use that heat is manageable, but in racing environments, it can hurt performance, especially in warmer climates.

To help keep heat at bay, ROUSH Performance developed its Max Cooling Kit, which is standard on the 2021 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang, and an optional upgrade for the 2018-2020 models. Included in this cooling system augmentation are functional front fascia corner pockets, which let in more airflow to cool the additional coolers secured in CAD-designed steel brackets. Formed, factory-style housings route coolant through the added heat exchangers while fender vents let the hot air escape.

Included in the Max Cooling Upgrade package are an auxiliary engine cooler, an auxiliary supercharger cooler, two gloss black front fascia corner pockets and two fender heat extractors. It is standard on the 2021 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang and available as an upgrade kit for 2018-2020 models for $2,099.

The system increases engine cooling capacity by 28 percent and supercharger cooling capacity by 22 percent. Those are significant gains, which allows the system to drop underhood temperatures by 14 percent. When combined with the most up-to-date ROUSH calibration, the system also allows for engaging an Engine Cool Down Feature that will lower the engine temperature in just three minutes, which is beneficial for racers between laps on the round course or rounds on the drag strip.

As illustrated in the video above, the MaxCooling Upgrade allows ROUSH Mustang with the latest calibration to engage theEngine Cool Down Feature by pressing the SET+ button three times. It turns onthe fans for three minutes to cool the supercharged engine between laps on thetrack.

If you don’t have a 2021 Stage 3, you can pick up the Max Cooling Upgrade (PN 422270) for  $2,099 from a ROUSH Performance dealer.
