Automotive manufacturers moving toward electrification opens up several unanswered questions, such as whether an electric vehicle can hold its own in the challenging law-enforcement environment.
To that end, Ford submitted a Mach-E to the Michigan State Police 2022 Model Year Police Evaluation in mid-September. This evaluation consists of a battery of tests including acceleration, braking, top-speed, and vehicle dynamics categories. The testing typically takes place at multiple locations and the data is documented using a VBox 3i Data Collection System.
“The fact that the Mustang Mach-E successfully stood up to the grueling Michigan State Police evaluation demonstrates that Ford can build electric vehicles which are capable, tough, and reliable enough for even the most challenging jobs,” Ted Cannis, CEO of Ford Pro, said. “We understand the needs of our commercial customers and are committed to unlocking new electrification opportunities for them."
